Day 6 – Flight to Şanlıurfa & Göbeklitepe Tour

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for your domestic flight to Şanlıurfa, one of the most historically significant cities in southeastern Türkiye.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your guide and begin your tour with a visit to Göbeklitepe, the world’s oldest known temple complex and a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back more than 11,000 years.

At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Overnight in Şanlıurfa.

Göbeklitepe Archaeological Site – Often described as the “zero point of history,” Göbeklitepe features massive T-shaped stone pillars decorated with animal carvings and mysterious symbols. This extraordinary archaeological discovery has changed our understanding of early human civilization and religious practices.

After visiting Göbeklitepe, the tour continues in Şanlıurfa city center.

Balıklıgöl (Pool of Sacred Fish) – One of the most important spiritual landmarks in the region, believed to be the place where Prophet Abraham was thrown into the fire according to local tradition. Today it is a peaceful complex with sacred carp swimming in the historic pools.

Şanlıurfa Bazaar – Explore the lively traditional bazaars where you can experience the authentic atmosphere of southeastern Türkiye, famous for its spices, local handicrafts, and regional products.

Harran Houses (Beehive Houses) – Located in the ancient city of Harran, these unique traditional houses are famous for their distinctive beehive-shaped mudbrick domes. This architectural style dates back thousands of years and was designed to keep the interiors cool during the extremely hot summers of southeastern Türkiye. Built without the use of wood, the conical domes provide natural ventilation and insulation. Harran is also known historically as one of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in the world and as an important center of science and culture during the early Islamic period.

Day 7 – Diyarbakır & Mount Nemrut Tour, Flight Back to Istanbul

After breakfast at your hotel, you will depart for a journey toward Diyarbakır, one of the oldest and most culturally rich cities in southeastern Türkiye.

After the tour, you will be transferred to the airport for your domestic flight back to Istanbul. Upon arrival, our team will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel.

Overnight in Istanbul.

Four-Legged Minaret (Dört Ayaklı Minare) – Located in the historic Sur district of Diyarbakır, this unique 16th-century minaret is part of the Sheikh Mutahhar Mosque. What makes the structure remarkable is that the minaret stands on four slender stone columns, creating an open space beneath it. According to local tradition, visitors who pass under the minaret’s arches seven times while making a wish are believed to receive good fortune. The monument is an important symbol of Diyarbakır’s cultural and architectural heritage.

Diyarbakır Inner Castle (İçkale / Citadel of Diyarbakır) – Located within the historic Diyarbakır city walls, the Inner Castle served as the administrative and military center of the ancient city for centuries. This fortified complex includes historic government buildings, watchtowers, and archaeological areas that reflect the long history of civilizations that ruled the region, including Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks, and Ottomans. Today, the area offers visitors a chance to explore important historical structures and enjoy panoramic views over the Tigris River and the surrounding plains.

St. George Church (Mor Georgios Church) – Located within the historic İçkale (Inner Castle) complex of Diyarbakır, St. George Church is one of the oldest surviving Christian structures in the city. The church dates back to the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) period and was later used by different Christian communities throughout history. Built mainly of the region’s characteristic black basalt stone, the structure reflects the multicultural and multi-religious heritage of Diyarbakır. Today, it stands as an important historical monument within the UNESCO-listed Diyarbakır fortress area.

Ulu Mosque (Great Mosque of Diyarbakır) – One of the oldest mosques in Anatolia, originally built in the 11th century. The mosque complex reflects remarkable architectural heritage and has been an important religious and cultural center for centuries.

Diyarbakır City Walls – Built mainly of black basalt stone, these impressive fortifications are among the longest and best-preserved city walls in the world. The walls surround the historic old city and offer remarkable insight into the region’s long and complex history.

Mount Nemrut (Nemrut Dağı) – Located at an altitude of over 2,100 meters, the mountain is famous for its giant stone heads and monumental statues built by King Antiochus I of Commagene in the 1st century BC. The site features impressive terraces decorated with sculptures of ancient gods, animals, and the king himself, offering visitors a truly unforgettable historical and panoramic experience.

After the tour, you will be transferred to the airport for your domestic flight back to Istanbul. Upon arrival, our team will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 8 – Free Day in Istanbul | Optional Guided Istanbul Tours

Today is a free day in Istanbul, giving you the opportunity to relax and explore this fascinating city at your own pace. You may enjoy walking through lively neighborhoods, visiting local cafés, discovering hidden streets, or shopping in Istanbul’s famous traditional bazaars.

For travelers who wish to experience more of the city, we can also arrange a variety of optional guided Istanbul tours. Popular choices include the Istanbul Old City Tour, where you can visit world-famous landmarks such as Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hippodrome, and the Grand Bazaar.

Day 9 – Farewell Istanbul & Airport Transfer (Departure Day)

After breakfast at your hotel, you will have some free time in Istanbul to relax and enjoy the final moments of your journey in Türkiye. Depending on your flight schedule, you may take a short walk around your neighborhood, enjoy a cup of Turkish coffee, or do some last-minute shopping for souvenirs.

At the scheduled time, our driver will pick you up from your hotel and provide a comfortable private transfer to Istanbul Airport for your international departure flight.

As your unforgettable journey comes to an end, we hope you leave Türkiye with wonderful memories of its rich history, unique culture, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality.
