Full-day all-inclusive tour typically starts very early with hotel pickup in Istanbul and includes round-trip transport to Troy by air-conditioned vehicle: This tour is designed as a full-day experience, often starting in the early morning to make the most of your time at Troy and account for the long journey. Guests are collected from their hotels in Istanbul and travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, with round-trip transportation included so there is no need to arrange separate transfers.
Tour price generally covers entrance fees to the ancient city of Troy, professional English-speaking guide, lunch, and sometimes breakfast and dinner depending on the package: The tour is typically sold as an all-inclusive package, meaning the main costs at the destination—such as entrance tickets and guiding services—are already covered. Meals like lunch, and occasionally breakfast and dinner, are often included as well, but it is important to check your specific package to know exactly what is provided.
Participants will visit key Troy sites such as the replica wooden Trojan Horse, ancient city walls, excavation areas, altars, and various archaeological layers: During the guided tour of the ancient city, you will explore the most iconic points of interest, including a large wooden Trojan Horse replica that provides a visual connection to the famous legend. The guide will lead you through ruins such as city fortifications, sacrificial altars, and clearly visible archaeological layers that reveal how Troy evolved over thousands of years.
Travel time between Istanbul and Troy (Çanakkale region) is long, often 4–5 hours each way, and may include a ferry crossing of the Dardanelles Strait: Because Troy is located in the Çanakkale region on the other side of the Sea of Marmara, the journey from Istanbul can take several hours in each direction. Many itineraries include a scenic ferry ride across the Dardanelles, which breaks up the drive and offers views of this historically significant waterway.
Comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, sun protection, and a light jacket (in cooler months) are strongly recommended due to significant walking and outdoor exposure: The archaeological site of Troy is spread out and largely uncovered, so you will spend a considerable amount of time walking on uneven ground and exposed to the elements. Proper footwear, a hat, sunscreen, and layered clothing or a light jacket help ensure you remain comfortable as you move through different parts of the site and changing weather conditions.
Hotel pickup is usually available from central Istanbul districts only, and guests should confirm pickup time, included meals, and any dietary requirements with the operator in advance: Many operators limit free hotel pickup to main tourist areas, so visitors staying outside central districts may need to meet at a designated point or arrange extra transfer. It is advisable to contact the tour company before your travel date to verify your exact pickup details, confirm which meals are included, and communicate any special dietary needs so they can be accommodated.
